Payments
We are a fee-for service practice, as we do not accept insurance. Full payment is due at the time of service (cash, check or Zelle), but we can provide you with a superbill invoice. A superbill is a medical invoice using standardized treatment diagnostic codes, which you can submit directly to your insurance plan, FSA or HSA for reimbursements.
Please call your insurance to verify your benefits and to confirm reimbursement procedures.
House Calls
House calls are available for those who are either not well enough or prefer not to come to the office. A traveling and set up fee will be added to the treatment fee based on location and set up of the home. Call to inquire about travelling fees and treatment rates. We currently offer house calls in Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Walnut Creek, Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco.
Cancellations
Except for emergencies, no shows or cancellations occurring less than 24 hours prior to the appointments are subject to a full session fee.
Please, be mindful that if you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate other appointments that follow yours.
What to Expect
Before your session
Please eat something light or inform us if you haven’t eaten anything. Wear loose and comfortable clothing such as sweatpants or shorts and short sleeve t-shirts to facilitate access to the acupuncture points.
During your session
We begin with an update of your health and then insert the needles appropriate for your condition. Then you rest and relax for about 30 to 40 minutes.
After your session
Drink plenty of water and take it easy as much as possible. You may feel temporary soreness on the site of needle insertion for a day or two specially when it comes to orthopedic treatments.
