Built on thousands of years of experience
Chinese medicine has a rich history that dates back over 2,000 years. Its roots lie in the ancient Chinese philosophy of Taoism, which emphasizes harmony between the individual and the natural world. The foundational text of Chinese medicine is the Huangdi Neijing, or Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, which was compiled around 200 BCE. This text laid the groundwork for the theories of yin and yang, the five elements, and the concept of qi, or vital energy.
Chinese medicine encompasses a wide range of practices, including herbal medicine, acupuncture, dietary therapy, and massage. These practices are based on the idea that illness arises when there is an imbalance in the body’s systems, and treatment aims to restore balance and promote the body’s natural healing ability. Chinese medicine has been used to treat a wide range of conditions, from common ailments like colds and headaches to more serious conditions.
Over the centuries, Chinese medicine has spread beyond China and is now practiced all over the world. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in integrating traditional Chinese medicine with Western medical practices to provide more holistic and individualized treatment for patients.

What clients say
Marta is a very skilled, diligent, and compassionate practitioner. I had a reoccurrance of an old left-knee injury where I could barely walk. After only one orthopedic acupuncture session with Marta, I was not only walking again but my pain was 80% better. She saved me from having to get knee surgery. I highly recommend Marta!

Walking Again: After suffering with severe Sciatica pain, I got myself in to see Marta. Don’t know how I got there but I am glad that I did. That very evening, the pain started subsiding. It took several days but is now completely gone. We are still working on a few small issues but the pain is gone. I’m sure glad Marta convinced me to come in and see her.
